A strong focus on Bible studies, commitment to prayer and a greater desire
for fellowship has been a characteristic of the Urdu Language Congregation
of the National Evangelical Church in the past three decades and more.
Geared towards Urdu speaking people from the subcontinent and Pakistan,
the congregation represents a cross-section of nationalities from
Pakistan, India to Bangladesh. For many years, lay leaders provided
leadership to the congregation but in 1983, it was felt that a full time
pastor was needed and after a long search Pastor Anwar Khan was invited to
lead the congregation.

The Urdu language congregation has certainly
gone through various experiences in its history but through it all, it has
remained faithful to its calling and a shining witness of the faith.
