If
learning to balance between tackling very serious issues and having lots
of fun at the same time is a task requiring the skills of a rocket
scientist, then, the Youth Group at the National Evangelical Church’s
English Language Congregation may have just stumbled upon the formula.

Youth
Group’s main emphasis is to ensure that its members are well-grounded in
scripture, remain consistently passionate about loving and serving God,
to have a spiritual vision for their lives, and that they are able to
live out their lives as a blessing to their family, to the church and
the wider local community.
And
while these serious issues are being considered, the Youth Group finds
plenty of time to have lots of fun and just chill with each other.
Games, parties, movies, picnics, and eating outs remain key highlights
of the Youth Group’s activities. The
Bible Studies are not merely theological in nature but are chosen for
their practical application so that the youth will be equipped in facing
the world with the Word. Mentoring, counseling and teaching are, thus,
the key objectives behind the bible studies at the Youth Group. Youth
camps are, also, held on a regular basis so that members are able to get
away from it all, and have a dedicated time to understand and discuss
various issues concerning faith or life. As
members come from different ethnic, culture, language and church
backgrounds, the Youth Group is able to foster a sense of oneness in the
youth as well as helping them to learn to accept others who are
different. The
Youth Group leaders are always on the look out for talents amongst the
youth, and to encourage these young people to realize their full
potential. And in the process, bring glory and honour to God. Many of
the former members of the Youth Group are now fully involved in various
ministries of the Church, and are continuing to be a blessing to each
and everyone in the Church.
