The purpose of the Welcoming Committee in the ELC is to:

1.Warmly receive newcomers into the worship on Sunday evening by:

• Greeting them

• Introducing them to leaders and members of our congregation

• Informing them of the various programs that are offered in our congregation such as Church School for children, Choir, TEE, Youth and Young Adults

• Requesting them to fill out a registration form

• Making available information about other Christian congregations in Bahrain

2.Arrange a Newcomer’s Dinner once every three months

3.Follow up the newcomers with a telephone call to:    

• Determine whether we can do anything to assist them with their adjustment in Bahrain

• Arrange for them to attend a Newcomer’s dinner

• Determine if they have been contacted by the organization in the church which can benefit from their ministry

4.Help integrate newcomers into the life of the congregation by:

• Sending copies of the registration forms to the appropriate organization in the church

• Sending a copy of the registration form to the Secretary and the Pastor

• Referring newcomers to a cell group in their area
